It's just like high school...Relationships and dating in JSC

I really had no idea that someone could meet the love of their life in JSC but I think one of my female students thought she had. Yesterday was really interesting after Physical Education and one of my female students who has been there since I have came in just crying her eyes out. The correction officer said she was taking care of it. When I found out later through a note the student wrote to the correction officer that this female detainee was dating one of my male detainees and he had broken up with her. I know they had to have met each other through JSC because of their geographical locations being so far apart from each other. I really wonder how you start a relationship with someone you can only talk to during PE, Lunch, in the hall and once a month at awards ceremonies. They are teenagers though, I need to give them that. Hormones...Crazy things, I suppose those don't stop when you get into a place like that.

Today my female detainee was feeling much better, as if she almost forgot it. She talked to our mental health lady about it I think, so hopefully it was all taken care of.
